Jose Mourinho becomes Tottenham new coach

Following his past failed season in Chelsea, and Manchester United the four time champion league winner Jose Mourinho has been appointed as Tottenham coach as Mauricio Pochettino was relieved of his duty and Jose appointed.
Mauricio Pochettino who was in change of the Northen london club for five year was appointed in May 2014 and led Spurs to the Champions League final last season, where they lost to Liverpool.
The 47-year-old has had a difficult start to the ongoing season with Spurs dawdling at 14th place in the Premier League.
“We were extremely reluctant to make this change,” said Spurs chairman Daniel Levy.
“It is not a decision the board has taken lightly, nor in haste. Regrettably domestic results at the end of last season and beginning of this season have been extremely disappointing.”
The announcement comes less than a day after Mauricio Pochettino was sacked by the club following a poor start to the season.
Spurs currently sit 14th in the Premier League after just three wins from their first 12 league games, while they also suffered a 7-2 thrashing at the hands of Bayern Munich in the Champions League.
Mourinho has been out of management since December 2018 when he was dismissed by Manchester United and the three-time Premier League winner is eager to get back into the game.
“I am excited to be joining a club with such a great heritage and such passionate supporters,” Mourinho said in a club statement.
“The quality in both the squad and the academy excites me. Working with these players is what has attracted me.”
Tottenham chairman Daniel Levy meanwhile stressed Mourinho’s track record of silverware made him an ideal choice.
“In Jose we have one of the most successful managers in football,” Levy said.
“He has a wealth of experience, can inspire teams and is a great tactician. He has won honours at every club he has coached.
“We believe he will bring energy and belief to the dressing room.”
Tottenham Hotspur have appointed Jose Mourinho as the club’s new head coach on a three-year contract until the end of the 2022/23 season.
Spurs sacked manager Mauricio Pochettino on Tuesday following a miserable start to the campaign that has seen last season’s Champions League finalists slide down the Premier League table.
Tottenham sit 14th in England’s top flight after picking up just three wins from their opening 12 games and were eliminated from the League Cup in September by fourth-tier Colchester United.
Speaking on his appointment, Mourinho said: “I am excited to be joining a club with such a great heritage and such passionate supporters. The quality in both the squad and the academy excites me. Working with these players is what has attracted me.”
